Things to do, at the farm's own pace
Nothing here needs booking in advance beyond your stay — just tell us what you'd like to try and we'll fit it around the day.
Bullock cart ride through the fields
A slow ride along the field bunds, usually just after sunrise when the light is best for photographs and the day is still cool.
Farm walk & milking demonstration
Walk the paddy, cashew and mango sections with a family member, and watch — or try — the morning milking. Good for children, with supervision.
Fishing at the farm pond
Rods and bait provided. Whatever you catch, our kitchen will cook it for your evening meal if you'd like.
Cycling to the village
A short ride to Ajara village along quiet farm roads, past the local market and the old Ghansal rice mill.
Trail to the nearby waterfall
A guided walk to a seasonal waterfall in the foothills, best from July to October. Carries an easy-to-moderate grade, roughly two hours round trip.
Bonfire & local folk songs
Most evenings end around a fire in the courtyard, with tea, roasted cashew from the farm, and songs from whoever feels like singing.
Cooking a Kolhapuri thali together
Join the kitchen for an hour before dinner and learn to make one or two dishes from that evening's thali, start to finish.
Best time to visit
The farm is open all year, but each season looks different. Monsoon (June–September) brings the fields to life and is when most guests come. Winter (November–February) is drier and best for the waterfall trail and long walks. Summer (March–May) is warmer, with mango season in full swing.
