A working farm near Amboli, three generations in

Slow mornings, paddy fields and a thali cooked the way our grandmother made it.

Ajara Agro Tourism is a family-run farm stay on the edge of the Sahyadris — the same land that grows the Ghansal rice this taluka is known for. Come for a day, or stay long enough to forget your phone signal.

What stays with people

Three things guests mention most, in their own words, after they leave.

The land

Ghansal fields you can walk into

Our paddy is the fragrant Ghansal variety Ajara is registered for. Walk the bunds barefoot, help with transplanting in June, or just watch the wind move through the fields at dusk.

The table

A thali, not a menu

Meals come from what's in season on the farm — kokum, cashew, jackfruit, and rice cooked the Kolhapuri way. No buffet, no room service. You eat when the family eats.

The pace

Nothing scheduled by the hour

A bullock cart ride, a walk to the stream, an evening by the fire — the day moves at the farm's pace, not a checklist. Ask, and someone will take you.

“We came for one night and stayed three. Our kids milked a cow for the first time and our phones stayed off the whole time — nobody missed them.”
